LET’S be upfront and obvious: Cole Porter’s Anything Goes is de-lightful, de-licious, and absolutely de-lovely; it is certainly one of the most entertaining and joyous musical comedies ever produced. “Take it from me,” crowed the New York Times after opening night, “the Depression is over!” If you’re old enough to remember its 1934 Broadway debut, you’re doing pretty well! If not, come see Gunn High School’s glorious production of Anything Goes which opens March 12th in Spangenberg Theatre! The show’s frothy screwball plot set on a trans-Atlantic cruise ship was devised by P. G. Wodehouse, and its vintage champagne Cole Porter songs include You’re the Top, I Get a Kick out of You, De-lovely and Let’s Misbehave, among many others (including, of course, Anything Goes!). Worried about the drought? the Middle East? the current state of the Euro? Go see Anything Goes! This classic thirties musical’s ingredients effervesce into such an instant cure for the blahs you’ll want to see it again and again!

Potlucks and Gala Volunteer Sign-Ups!
Potlucks
There are separate sign-up sheets for each day, with specific suggested dishes based on past years’ experience (email klee@pausd.org if you have any questions). In addition to food contributions, set-up/clean-up slots are included at the bottom of each sheet. Here are the four dates for the potlucks/food theme and sign-up links.
- Potluck # 3 (Mexican), Sat. March 7 (NO ORCHESTRA is called for potluck number three!).
- Potluck #4 (American), Sun. March 8
Opening Night Gala!
On Opening Night (March 12th, a Thursday, but the next day is a holiday!!) we all (audience, cast, crew, orchestra) will head over to the Gym and party down, dance, eat, and celebrate. It’s an amazing event and you should really consider attending! We’ll talk more about the Gala at the meeting on the 26th, but please consider signing up to help with setup, food or cleanup by clicking on this text!
